[SYNTH CLUB INFO]

Synth Club is a sporadic meeting of like minded folk who like programming spectrally rich sounds. The bsaic idea is to plug your laptop into the mixer and to start building and playing synths at the same time as the other audio spectrum enthusiasts.

There are currently 4 rules for Synth Club:

  1. No headphones - live coding only
  2. No unintentional distortion - don't crank your level so you can take over the sound. Algorithmic distortion is welcome, of course
  3. No presets
  4. You need a pseudonym

[SYNTH CLUB MIXER]

We are planning to develop an algorithmic mixer that automatically controls the way everyone's signals are mixed together. Initially the aim will be to prevent anyone from dominating the mix by continually increasing their anplitude. This will be achieved by penalising consistently loud players with reduced gain. Subsequently, the mixing algorithm will be developed to provide spectral limitations and so forth, potentially acting as a challenge to the synthesist by granting them a limited spectrum to explore.
